Q: What do I need with me when I come to collect my hire car / hire van? 

A: You need to bring your driving licence card and DVLA Printout or code, proof of address such as a utilities bill & your payment card. All drivers must be present with their documents to collect the vehicle. If you are using your own insurance bring a valid insurance certificate as well. Q:  What is your Fuel Policy? 

A: When you pick up your hire vehicle you will be told how much fuel is in it and we ask that you bring it back on the same level. Fuel levels are recorded on your rental agreement and you are given a copy of this before you leave. Always check the vehicle fuel level is correctly recorded before you leave our site - the vehicle will have been inspected before your hire but we cannot be held responsible for any innaccuracies once you have driven off!

 In the event that your vehicle is returned to us low on fuel you will incur a refuelling charge which is the cost to us of returning the vehicle to the correct fuel level. These charges are published in our reception and are charged per 1/8 of a tank. Our fuel charges are reasonable but It is usually cheaper to re-fill the vehicle yourself and we would prefer that you do this whenever possible!

No credit is given for returning vehicles over filled. 

If you prefer to rent on a full to empty basis please ask before you collect and we will arrange this – the cost of this service depends on the vehicle.


Q:  What if something goes wrong during my hire? 

A: Breakdown / recovery numbers are printed on your rental agreement (right hand side about halfway down) After hours text line 07833228880. General advice / information below;

If you have an accident - do not admit liability! Forms are provided in your hire vehicle, we ask that you fill these in. Further information is contained with these forms. You can contact us by phone on 01608 663322 should you require.

In the event of a technical fault, breakdown or puncture please call us first (01608 663322) as we may be able to solve the problem quickly. Most of our vehicles are under manufacturers warranty, UK breakdown / recovery details are printed on your Rental Agreement where needed.

Problems which are as a result of hirer negligence such as flat batteries, fuel contamination or broken keys are chargeable in full to the hirer and can be expensive so diligence is recommended! 

Stone chips / cracked windscreens are the hirers responsibility. You can take sensible precautions to avoid these by keeping distance from the vehicle in front. In cold weather we do not advise that you pour hot water on windscreens! Our CDW limits your responsibility for glass damage.

Punctures and tyre damage is also the hirers responsibility. You can help avoid these by not taking the vehicle onto areas or roads littered with sharp items, not overloading vehicles with excessive weight or speed and not causing kerbing damage to tyres / wheels. Our CDW limits your responsibility for tyre damage.


Q. Where are you based?

A.Our office is at Tredington Roundabout, just outside Tredington village, a few miles north of Shipston on Stour, 8 miles north of Moreton in Marsh on the A429 Fosse way, 6.5 miles south of Stratford-upon-Avon on the A3400. 12 miles south of Junction 15 of the M40 (Longbridge Island) on the A429. Q. Can you deliver my hire vehicle? 

A. Our prices do not include delivery. We will try to help with delivery when possible at a charge of £2 per mile, but this service depends on staff availability. We recommend you phone the following numbers to arrange a Taxi to us:- 01608 661555, 01608 664632, 01608 661418, 01608 737161 


Q. What extras might be to the price when we collect or return? 

A. Nothing if you look after the vehicle, are a careful driver and remember to put fuel back in! Insurance is included although certain terms and options apply, click on insurance for details. Small cars have 50 or 100 miles a day free depending on the package, then you have to pay 10 pence + vat per mile. If you are late returning or the vehicle is returned dirty, damaged, or smelling of something you have transported or spilt you will have to pay extra. There is no limit to the amount payable in these cases. The prices quoted are to collect from 08.30 on any day Monday to Saturday, and to return by 08.30 on the day of return. To collect the night before is an extra 1/2 daily rate. 

The most commonly charged extra is re-fuelling which can be avoided by ensuring the vehicle is returned with at least the same fuel level on the guage as recorded on your rental agreement (right hand side half way up in BOLD!). If fuel needs to be charged on return it will be according to the tariff displayed in our reception and charged to the credit / debit card left with us, you will be sent a receipt in the post. 

Occasionally we need to charge for cleaning - smoking in the vehicles or leaving them full of mud, rubbish or pet hair is not allowed and can cause an enormous inconvenience to us and our next customer! If your vehicle takes us a day to get ready again after your hire please expect to be charged accordingly! Cleaning charges start from £35 to £100+ and in more serious cases you should expect to be charged for an extension to your hire whilst the vehicle is cleaned as well. This can be avoided by returning the vehicle clean and tidy.


Q. Can we return the vehicle out of hours? 

A. We do have arrangements to return keys safely outside office hours, please ask for details before you leave. You remain responsible for the vehicle until we are able to check it in during office hours.


Q. Do I need to have a credit / debit card to hire a Vehicle? 

A. If you do not have a VISA or MASTERCARD payment card you will need to leave a cash deposit. This is normally between £500 and £1000 and can be returned once the vehicle has been checked back in. We cannot accept cheques as payment for hires.


Q. We do not have UK licences. Can you insure us? 

A. We can insure non UK licence holders, but there are some conditions. You must be between 25 and 69 years old, you must have had a full licence for at least 2 years, you must produce your licence in our office and also you must have a passport and recent proof of address with you. You must also pay by Credit card for the hire. If you return the vehicle with damage on it you have to pay for the first £1000.00p of damage. You cannot take any waiver or additional insurance with us to cover this. N.B. We cannot insure everybody, and reserve the right to refuse a hire at any time if you do not satisfy normal rental criteria. In some cases you will forfeit your deposit. Some payment cards have an insurance element in them. To find out you must enquire from your insurers or payment card suppliers before hiring. (There is a telephone number on the reverse of most cards) 


Q. What is your Booking & Cancellation Policy?

A. In order to confirm a booking we ask for credit / debit card details, we also need your name, address and phone number.  In the event that you need to cancel up to 48hrs before the start of your hire this can be done without charge. After 48hrs there is a charge of the first days rental. Non collections for confirmed bookings are charged in full.

Online bookings must be confirmed to you by email - in some circumstances we will accept your booking with alternative vehicles / times. You will be told about any changes we have made to your booking and you have the option to cancel if we cannot offer exactly what you need. Sometimes we may decline your booking because we do not have something similar available on the days you requested. We may still be able to offer something suitable but in these circumstances we will probably need to speak to you over the phone to discuss your requirements.

During peak season on certain vehicles you may be asked for a non-returnable deposit of £100 to secure your hire at the time of booking. This will not be returned in the event of a cancellation or non collection.


Q. How far are you from Bath / Cheltenham / Stratford upon Avon? When are there buses or trains?

A. We have a request bus stop right outside! The 50 will stop there (from Stratford or Chipping Norton), and the 23 stops a short walk from us! Coming from a distance?? We suggest that you surf the web for maps and routefinders to answer these questions! Key in the name of the town you are starting from for links. However, you will find us on the map in the middle of England if you draw a circle between Banbury, Stratford upon Avon, Evesham, Cheltenham and Witney! Q. One of our party who is over/under age wants to drive. Can I be the hirer and have him/her as a named driver? 

A. We cannot insure anyone who does not fit our insurance conditions. Other drivers must insure the vehicle themselves and we must have a satisfactory certificate of insurance faxed to our office prior to hire. You cannot mix two insurance groups on one hire. Whatever the insurance is for the highest risk driver applies throughout the hire until the vehicle is returned. 


Q. One of our party who wants to drive cannot come into your office to sign. Can I bring their licence in to you? 

A. Anyone who wants to drive on our insurance must come into our office to sign. If you must have someone driving who cannot come into our office then you need to effect your own insurance for the hire vehicle for every driver for the whole period of hire. 


Q. I cannot find my licence (or paper counterpart) ...can I drive? 

A. If you cannot produce your licence in full (i.e. both parts of the new style UK licence) you cannot drive our vehicles unless we are able to verify your details with the DVLA. We can normally do this while you are in the office collecting the vehicle, but please remember that it is your responsibility to ensure you have the correct documents! It costs you £5.00 if we have to phone DVLA. 


Q. How far are you from the train station? 

A. Our office is about 9 miles from Stratford on Avon train station, and about 8 miles from Moreton in Marsh train station. You can get the 50 bus from Stratford (outside BHS). From Moreton there are fewer transport links, so you may need a taxi!


Q. Can we pick up or drop off at the airport? 

A.Yes and No!!  We only have one office based at the intersection of the A3400 and the A429 (Tredington Roundabout) near Shipston-on-Stour. But we are Licencee partners of Sixt Holiday Cars, and you can rent cars from them at other locations.
